Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Pediatric patients undergoing cardiopulmonary bypass in our hospital were eligible for participation if they met the following criteria: 1) Aged <=7 year; 2) undergoing elective cardiac surgery under CPB; 3) ASA I - III level; 4) there is written informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Redo cardiac surgery; 2. Preoperative lactate value > 2.5mmol/L; 3. current infections (e.g. sepsis); 4. preoperative treatment with radiotherapy; 5. preoperative treatment with extracorporeal life support; 6. incomplete clinical data that statistical analysis could not be completed; 7. deep hypothermic CPB; 8. emergent surgery.
