Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Eligible patients were 18-75 yr old with ASA physical status 1-2 and scheduled for elective laparoscopy-assisted gastrectomy.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: A history of relevant drug allergy, body mass index (BMI) >= 30 kg/m2 or <= 15kg/m2, a history of alcohol or analgesics dependence, history of upper abdominal surgery, local infection at the site of injection or systemic infection, peripheral neuropathy, coagulopathy, difficulty with communication, and unable to obtain informed consent.
