Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Aged 18 to 60 years old; 2. diagnosed with T1DM and T2DM at least six months; 3. IAH defined using the Gold score and a total score >=4; 4. had received treatment with injections of insulin daily for at least six months; 5. being available by mobile phone after discharge; 6. could communicate in Chinese; 7. agreed to participate an the study and sign the informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. involved in diabetes education programmes; 2. cognitive or psychiatric disorders; 3. severe comorbidities such as cancer, end-stage renal disease, heart failure.
