Age
18 Years to 60 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Aged 18-60 years, right handedness; 2. meet the diagnostic and Statistical Manual of mental disorders, Fifth Edition (dsm-5) depression diagnostic criteria; 3. first episode or relapse; 4. 24 item Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD-24) > 20 points; 5. no previous hypomania or manic episode.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. History of brain injury or other organic brain diseases; 2. current patients with alcohol or other substance dependence; 3. history of major physical diseases (for example, cardiovascular diseases, hepatitis, major respiratory diseases, thyroid diseases and diabetes mellitus); 4. pregnant women and lactating women; 5. patients who have received modified electroconvulsive therapy in the past six months; 6. patients who can not complete cognitive tasks or fNIRS detection.
