Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) medically refractory epilepsy defined by the International League Against Epilepsy; (2) epilepsy surgery performed by a single neurosurgeon, Dr. H.Z.; (3) surgical procedure performed via craniotomy.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with neuromodulation therapy were excluded in this study.
