Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: In the Department of critical care medicine, Central South Hospital of Wuhan University, adult patients (>= 18 years old) who underwent tracheal intubation and mechanical ventilation for more than 24 hours were screened continuously.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients who had undergone tracheostomy before mechanical ventilation; 2. Patients with known laryngeal or tracheal diseases, such as bulbar palsy; 3. Patients with history of head and neck radiotherapy; 4. Those with coma (GCS < 9); 5. Those patients who were intubated during CPR; 6. Subjects with speech disorders; 7. Patients with contraindications to bronchoscopy; 8. Patients with chronic neuromuscular diseases.
