Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients are volunteer to participate and sign of informed consent; 2.Aged between 18 to 75 years; 3.Patients were diagnosed with MAFLD according to "The Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver clinical practice guidelines for the diagnosis and management of metabolic associated fatty liver disease", detailed diagnostic criteria are as follows: Patients who are diagnosed with type 2 diabetic mellitus or have a body mass index higher than 23 kg/m2 will be recruited, if else patients who satisfied at least two following criteria can also be recruited: (1) Waist circumference >= 90cm in men or >= 80 cm in women; (2) Blood pressure >= 130/85 mmHg or specific drug treatment; (3) Plasma triglycerides >= 150 mg/dl (>= 1.70 mmol/L) or specific drug treatment; (4) Plasma HDL-cholesterol = 2.5; (7) Plasma high-sensitivity C-reactive protein level > 2 mg/L.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Concurrent with viral hepatitis, including anti-HAV IgM (+), HBsAg(+), anti-HCV(+), anti-HEV IgM(+), anti-HDV-IgM(+) and anti-HIV antibody(+); 2. Medication in the last three months include corticosteroids, valproic acid, methotrexate, amiodarone and aromatase inhibitors (tamoxifen, emesetam, etc.); 3. Women who pregnant or breastfeeding or plan to give birth recently; 4. Concurrent with drug induced liver injury; 5. Concurrent with autoimmune liver disease, including cholestatic hepatitis PBC, IgG4 liver disease, etc.; 6. Concurrent with congenital metabolic liver diseases, such as Wilson's disease, hemochromatosis, etc.; 7. Concurrent with lipid metabolic disorders, such as fetoproteinemia, hypofetoproteinemia, lysosomal fatty deficiency, familial hyperlipidemia, Weber Christian syndrome, glycogen accumulation, etc.; 8. Concurrent with previously known severe extra-hepatic diseases (including uncontrolled neurological,psychiatric, heart, lung, kidney, digestive, immunological diseases, malignant tumors, etc.); 9. Decompensated cirrhosis(e.g., ascites, varicose veins, spontaneous bacterial peritonitis, hepatic encephalopathy, hepatorenal syndrome) or liver failure or primary hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) occurred in the last 6 months.
