Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1)Patients scheduled to undergo non-cardiac surgery; (2)Aged >=60 years; (3)ASA class I-III; (4)Right handedness.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) Education duration < 6 years; (2) Mini-Mental State Examination score prior to surgery < 24 points; (3) History of mental or psychiatric disease, Parkinson's disease, history of cardiac and/or central nervous system vascular disease, and severe hepatic or renal dysfunction; (4) Taking sedatives or antidepressants; (5) History of cardiac and cranial surgeries; (6) Major surgery in past 12 months; (7) Alcohol or drug abuse; (8) Vision and audition impairment or language troubles impeding communication; (9) Patients who can not perform MRI scan because of implantation of metal or heart pacemaker; (10) Patients with claustrophobia.
