carbohydrate group:oral 350 ml solution including 50g carbohydrate 2 hours before surgery
control group:preoperative fasting from midnight before the operation

60 Years to 79 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients scheduled for undergoing hip arthroplasty; 2.ASA grade I-III; 3.Aged 60~79 years.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Exclusion criteria were diabetes mellitus or impaired glucose tolerance, medication affecting insulin sensitivity; 2.Weight loss greater than 10 percent during the previous 6 months; 3.Onditions (including pharmacological treatment) known to affect gastric emptying rate; 4.Accompanied by severe brain, heart, pulmonary, liver and kidney disease.
