Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Cases diagnosed as COPD according to the gold standard [15]. After the use of bronchodilators, the ratio of forced expiratory volume in the first second (FEV1) to forced vital capacity was less than 70%, and more severe respiratory symptoms occurred beyond the normal daily changes. These cases were diagnosed with AECOPD. 2. Patients over 40 years old.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Pregnant subjects; 2. Patients with other lung diseases, such as asthma, bronchiectasis, pneumonia, tuberculosis, etc; 3. Patients with other diseases that may affect the serum PCT level, such as sepsis, lung and extrapulmonary malignant tumor; 4. Patients with history of antibiotic treatment before admission; 5. Patients with other organ failure; 6. Critical patients who need to enter ICU for tracheal intubation; 7. Patients with poor treatment compliance.
