Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with mNPC who received platinum-based chemotherapy as the first-line treatment at Sun Yat-Sen University Cancer Center (SYSUCC) between January 2008 and December 2015 were initially evaluated for inclusion.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: We excluded those with (i) uncertain TNM classifications, (ii) previous anticancer treatment, (iii) unconfirmed histology, (iv) cycles of first-line chemotherapy less than two, (v) previous or synchronous malignant tumors, and (vi) missing or unmeasurable radiological evaluation data.
