Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: (1) Preterm infants (born at <37 weeks gestation) admitted to the NICU of Childrens Hospital of Fudan University with NEC stage 1; (2) Informed consent is given.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: (1) Infants with major congenital anomalies, receiving palliative care; (2) Severe illness of the mother or infant prevents the administration of breast milk feeds in the first week of the infants life.
