Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients, aged 18 to 60 years, with an ASA physical status classification of I or II, who were scheduled for an elective thyroidectomy.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Body mass index (BMI) 30 kg/m 2 or less than 18 kg/m 2; 2. Patients with a history of nausea, vomiting and dizziness; 3. Smoke; 4. Pregnant or nursing mothers; 5. Difficult airway defined as having Mallampati score of 4, upper respiratory tract or neck pathology; 6. Known gastroesophageal reflux disease; 7. Severe liver and kidney dysfunction, senility, and cardiovascular diseases; 8. Patients with confirmed anxiety or depression.
