Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adult Chinese patients with primary nasopharyngeal cancer (NPC) who will be receiving chemo-radiotherapy will be recruited at the out-patient clinic in the department of clinical oncology, Queen Mary Hospital.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with a history of cancer or previous surgery for NPC, with trismus, any clinically compromised condition that impairs wound healing (e.g. diabetes), any distant metastasis, prior irradiation or chemotherapy for other H&N malignancies, previous adverse reactions to laser treatment, known radiation hypersensitivity, age 75y or inability to give informed consent will be excluded.
