Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: (1) Complete primary unilateral Achilles tendon rupture; (2) Presenting within 14 days after injury; (3) Between 18 and 60 years of age; (4) Willing and able to accept follow-up; (5) Sign the informed consent form.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) Multiple injuries; (2) Open Achilles tendon rupture; (3) Chronic Achilles tendon rupture; (4) Achilles avulsion from the calcaneus; (5) Insertional Achilles tendinitis; (6) Surgical contraindications; (7) Insulin-dependent diabetes; (8) Neurological or vascular disease requiring medications.
