Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Elderly (aged >= 65 years) patients who underwent elective major non-cardiac surgery were screened. Inclusion criteria included the following items: (1) planned to receive surgery under general anaesthesia and (2)expected surgery duration >= 2 hours.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients who met any of the following criteria were excluded: (1) refused to provide written informed consents; (2)emergency surgery;(3) neurosurgery; (4) ASA >= 4 grade.
