Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Inclusion criteria were children age younger than 12 years with a diagnose of Unilateral amblyopia. 2. Unilateral amblyopia was defined as the best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) in the amblyopic eye was worse than 20/30 and the BCVA was at least two Snellen lines worse than that of the fellow eye. 3. Only amblyopia due to strabismus, hyperopic anisometropia or hyperopic anisometropia combined with strabismus (mixed-type) were included.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. The presence of deprivation amblyopia, bilateral amblyopia, nystagmus, media opacity, ocular disease, such as glaucoma or retinal disease; 2. previous history of ocular surgery, prematurity, neurologic disease, or any systemic condition such as diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular which could impact the retinal microvasculature system; 3. any of the eyes have myopia greater than -1D; 4. unable to properly position themselves or maintain adequate retinal fixation due to poor vision or cooperation.
