Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. The patient aged 18 ~ 70 years; 2. Preoperative imaging evaluation indicated locally advanced rectal cancer; 3. Preoperative imaging evaluation of suspicious metastasis of lateral lymph nodes (lymph node short diameter > 1cm); 4. After neoadjuvant therapy, lateral lymph nodes are visible or the short diameter is greater than 7mm; 5. Neoadjuvant therapy is required for all patients; 6. Associated diseases without obvious surgical contraindications; 7. PS score >=2.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Distant organ metastasis or peritoneal dispersal; 2. Unable to tolerate chemoradiotherapy and surgical treatment; 3. Preoperative imaging showed no signs of metastasis in the lateral lymph nodes; 4. Local obstruction, bleeding, perforation and other emergency cases.
