35 Years to 75 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - Aged 35-75 years old diagnosed with chronic periodontal disease and Type 2 diabetes - willing to participate in a 1-yr study; - without periodontal treatment in the last 6 months; - Type 2 diabetes > 6 months and under physicians care for Type 2 diabetes; - non-smoking; no antibiotics or NSAID use within the last 3 months.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: probiotic supplementation; smoking; malignancy diagnosis; immunosuppressive medication; systemic inflammatory disease; pregnancy; limited life expectancy.
