Interventions

“Pay-it-forward”:people will be told that the hospital list price of influenza vaccines is 150 RMB (22 USD), and that previous person attending the clinic had donated money to cover the cost of this v
Free vaccine arm :provide a free vaccine for the participants
Standard of care arm:Among people assigned to the standard of care arm, influenza vaccination will be offered at the usual hospital list price (approximately 150 RMB).

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Children: 1. children aged between six-month-old and eight years old; 2. no acute moderate or severe illnesses with or without fever; 3. no severe, life-threatening allergies to a flu vaccine or any ingredient(s) in the vaccine; 4. a legal guardian, be it a parent or grandparent in the Chinese setting, consents to participate in the study. Elderly people: 1. Aged >=sixty years old; 2. no acute moderate or severe illnesses with or without fever; 3. no severe, life-threatening allergies to a flu vaccine or any ingredient(s) in the vaccine; 4. capable of making informed decisions and consent to participate the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Not suitable for influenza vaccination; 2. Unwilling to participate in the influenza vaccination project.

Influenza vaccination rate of each group: The vaccination rate of each group will be calculated separately by (the number of vaccinated participants divided by the total number of people invited to participate) * 100%.;Donation rate under PIF conditions: The donation rate under PIF conditions is calculated by (dividing the number of people participating in the donation by the total number of people vaccinated under PIF conditions) * 100%;The donation amount of the relay species group: the total donation amount and the proportion of the donation amount to the economic cost (that is, the total donation amount divided by the total economic cost of the “pay-it-forward” group vaccine;
