Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1) Aged 18-80 years; 2) indications for elective neurosurgery including craniotomy, endoscopic transsphenoidal surgery, and spine surgery; 3) informed consent obtained from the patient or his/her legally authorized representative.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1) Patients with intracranial or spinal trauma, pathology requiring emergent surgery; 2) Preoperative disturbance of consciousness; 3) Significant cognitive impairment who were unable to cooperate; 4) A confounding condition (e.g., pregnancy) or disease that could potentially impact postoperative recovery (e.g., wheelchair-bound or bed-ridden prior to surgery, autoimmune diseases, myocardial infarction, severe infection, liver and renal malfunction, or severe psychological disorder).
