Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Aged >= 40 years; 2. Patients diagnosed as atherosclerotic IS in accordance with the Chinese guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of Acute Ischemic Stroke in 2018, and confirmed by cranial CT or MRI; 3. All patients were enrolled voluntarily and signed the informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Other stroke subtypes except TOAST type I and type III and arteriolar infarction caused by other causes (e.g. cardiogenic cerebral embolism, patent foramen ovale, cerebral amyloid angiopathy, hereditary small vessel disease, inflammatory or immune-mediated small vessel disease, etc.), cerebrovascular malformations, seizures or seizures. In the past three months, there were intracranial infection, traumatic brain injury, toxic leukoencephalopathy, cerebral hemorrhage, intracranial tumors (primary intracranial tumors, such as glioma, meningioma, pituitary tumor, medulloblastoma, astrocytoma, central nervous system lymphoma, craniopharyngioma, germinoma, teratoma, neurofibroma, etc. Secondary intracranial tumors,such as brain metastases,etc.) and other neurological diseases; 2. People with Alzheimer's disease ((AD)) and other neurological disorders (Parkinson's disease, Lewy body dementia); 3. Non-ischemic white matter lesions (e.g. multiple sclerosis, optic neuromyelitis, leukodystrophy, genetic white matter disease, etc.); 4. Patients with mental disorders, use of antidepressants or antipsychotics; 5. Persons with severe aphasia, blindness, deafness or abnormal mental state who are unable to cooperate; 6. Patients with metabolic diseases such as severe cardiac insufficiency (cardiac function >= grade 3), liver insufficiency (ALT > 40 IU / L), renal insufficiency (creatinine > 104umol/L), hypothyroidism and other severe systemic diseases; 7. People with disturbance of consciousness caused by other non-central system diseases.
