Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Basic intermittent exotropia; 2. 6 to 12 years of age when agreed to join; 3. Myopic refraction = 10 prism diopters (PD) at distance measured by the prism and alternate cover test (PACT). In addition, the investigator and the childs family had to be. willing to observe the IXT without treatment for 3 years unless specific criteria for deterioration were met.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Having amblyopia or other eye disease that affects vision; 2. Myopic refraction 2 D; 4. Serious health problems affecting follow-up or failure to cooperate with examinations; 5. Participate in other intervention tests; 6. Previous use of atropine or orthokeratology lens or other optical methods for myopia control; 7. Allergy to atropine; 8. Peripheral anterior chamber depth < 1/3 corneal thickness.
