Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients aged 18-75 years; 2. Patients diagnosed with cirrhosis; 3. Patients undergoing elective TIPS.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients who had undergone tips or surgical shunt in the past; 2. Patients with previous history of hepatic encephalopathy, or diagnosed with hepatic encephalopathy at the time of inclusion; 3. Patients with hepatic myelopathy and other neuropsychiatric diseases; 4. Patients who used nutrition, antibiotics or lactulose within 4 weeks before operation; 5. Patients with liver cirrhosis complications such as gastrointestinal bleeding, spontaneous peritonitis, hepatorenal syndrome and hepatopulmonary syndrome that are not controlled or stable for less than 1 week; 6. Patients with heart, lung, kidney, brain and other major organ dysfunction; 7. Patients whose vision impairment affects reading; 8. People with very low education level can't read and write simple words; 9. Subjects from high altitude (> 2500 m); 10. Pregnant and lactating women; 11. In patients with child score over 12, transaminase was 5 times higher than the upper limit of normal 12. Patients with cholestatic liver disease (primary biliary cholangitis, primary sclerosing cholangitis and extrahepatic bile duct obstruction, etc.); 13. Patients with malignant tumor; 14. Cavernous transformation of portal vein.
