18 Years to 65 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. aged between 18 and 65 years; 2. scheduled for elective cardiac valve repair or replacement surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass through median sternotomy; 3. American Society of Anesthesiologists classification II–III.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. unable to provide a signed informed consent; 2. known allergy to local anesthetics; 3. long-term use of opioids; 4. preoperative blood glucose above 180mg/dL (10mmol/L); 5. previous open cardiac surgery; 6. liver or renal dysfunction.
