Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: pregnant women with painless dilatation of the uterine cervix before 27+6 gestational weeks, and willing to accept cervical cerclage.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. multiple pregnancy; 2. pregnant women suspected to have chorioamnionitis, active labor and preterm premature rupture of membranes.
