Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Women scheduled for IOL; 2. Aged >= 18 years; 3. Gestational age >= 37 weeks; 4. Singleton gestation; 5. Cephalic presentation; 6. Intact membranes; 7. Bishop score < 6; 8. Informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Contraindications for vaginal delivery (including placenta previa); 2. Previous caesarean section; 3. Intrauterine fetal death; 4. Nonreassuring fetal heart tracing.
