Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: (1) Aged 18-89 years-old; (2) Baseline laboratory examination: ALT or AST =100x10*9/L; (3) Gallstones and CBD stones diagnosed preoperatively with radiographic evidence; (4) Diameter of CBD is 0.8-2.5cm, CBD stones are between 0.8 and 2.5cm indicated by CT or MRCP; (5) The ERCP or surgical indications are unequivocal without contraindications (ASA score); (6) Have never accepted surgical treatment of right upper quadrant before.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) Radiologic evidence of large stones in common bile duct (>2.5 cm); (2) History of bleeding disorder;Haemophilia or bleeding tendency; treatment with anticoagulant therapy; (3) Evidence on ultrasonography (US) or computed tomography (CT) of an intrahepatic gallbladder, cirrhosis, liver mass or abscess, combining with intrahepatic duct stones or periampullary tumor; (4) Clinical or US/CT evidence of suppurative or necrotizing cholecystitis, gallbladder empyema, or perforation; multiple prior upper quadrant laparotomies; (5) Morbid obesity (BMI>40.0); (6) Female patients who are pregnant, within 28 days of postparturition or breast feeding; (7) Requirement for continuous immunosuppressant treatment or systemic corticosteroid; (8) Severe interstitial pneumonia, pulmonary fibrosis or severe emphysema; (9) Uncontrolled diabetes mellitus; (10) Severe systemic organ dysfunction (chronic liver, renal or heart diseases); (11) HIV positive; (12) ASA score >4; (13) patients who underwent ERCP alone without subsequent LC.
