Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Age 40-70 years old; 2. Pain in the anterolateral acromial area or pain with active shoulder elevation, with symptoms lasting for more than 3 months; 3. Have one positive sign in each of the following 4 categories: presence of pain when resisting humeral external rotation or abduction, Jobe Test, Hawkins Test, Neer Test; 4. VAS score >= 40 mm.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Clinical signs of massive rotator cuff tears (a tear of greater than five centimetres in diameter) or the presence of two or more tendon tears [18, 19]; 2. Glenohumeral osteoarthritis (OA) or other inflammatory arthritis; 3. Frozen shoulder; 4. Fracture or dislocation of the shoulder; 5. History of neck or shoulder surgery; 6. Severe osteoporosis; 7. Neurological disorders, rheumatoid arthritis, tumour, Parkinsons disease or other neurological disorders; 8. Pregnancy.
