Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Aged 30 to 65 years local citizens; 2. Have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes for at least 1 year and the treatment of diabetes has not changed in the past at least 3 months; 3. Have at least 15 natural teeth and have not received periodontal treatment in at least the past 6 months; 4. Volunteer to participate in clinical studies, and sign or provide authorized informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with type 1 diabetes, gestational diabetes and other special types of diabetes; 2. Patients who have been diagnosed with periodontitis; 3. Patients who have taken antibacterial drugs or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in recent 3 months; 4. Patients with serious systemic diseases or complications such as blood diseases, liver damage, kidney disease and systemic inflammatory diseases; 5. Use drugs known to affect periodontal tissues (phenytoin sodium or cyclosporine); 6. Pregnancy or breastfeeding.
