40 Years to 70 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: a) diagnosis of an ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke by clinical evaluation and comprehensive imaging examination according to the definition of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10); b) Age between 40-70 years, regardless of gender; c) A primary stroke, 2 weeks to 6 months from the onset; d) A lesion distributed in the brain region supplied by middle cerebral artery (MCA), and accompanied by unilateral upper limb motor dysfunction, as indicated by computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging; e) Right-handedness; f) Scoring over 27 by The Minimum Mental State Examination (MMSE); g) A written informed consent submitted.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: a) A medical history of severe heart disease, liver disease, kidney disease or infectious disease; b) With severe cognitive, sensory, and emotional dysfunction; c) The lesion located in the bilateral cerebral hemisphere, cerebellum or brain stem; d) Apply drugs that change the excitability of the cerebral cortex (anti-epileptics, sedative and hypnotic drugs, etc.); e) Contraindications related to cortical stimulation and imaging: ·cardiac pacemaker ·metallic implant in the head ·mental illness or epilepsy ·History of syncope with unknown etiology ·uncontrolled arrhythmias or unstable hearth diseases f) Women during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
