Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria were a diagnosis of diabetes from at least 1 years and definition of no or mild signs of nonproliferative diabetic retinopathy (NPDR) according to the ETDRS severity scale,40/50 or better Uncorrected or Best Corrected Visual Acuity (UCVA or BCVA)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: diagnosis of heavy NPDR according to the ETDRS severity scale, or the presence or a history of maculopathy or any other ocular disease, including lens opacity, or previous eye surger
