Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All patients admitted to our department receiving elective surgery for GC were included.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Age less than 18 years; 2. Hepatic insufficiency (alanine transaminase/aspartate transaminase ratio 200% above normal range or bilirubin >3 mg/dL), 3. Renal insufficiency (serum creatinine [Scr] >1.5 mg/dL),; 4. Acute or life-threatening diseases (e.g., shock, collapse, stroke, coma of unknown etiology, or recent cardiac infarction); 5. Lactational or gestational period; 6. Medication history of thyroidal and adrenal hormone disorders; 7. Previous history of thyroidal, hypophyseal or hypothalamic disease; 8. Attack of coronary heart disease, myocardial, or cerebral infarction in the past month; 9. Intracranial infection or hemorrhage in the past month.
