Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients with septic shock; 2. Patients with core body temperature >= 38.3 degrees C; 3. Patients with expected length of stay in ICU greater than or equal to 72 hours.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients younger than 18 years old; 2. Patients with body temperature > 40 degrees C; 3. Pregnant and lactating patients; 4. Patients who need antipyretic drugs 6 hours before and after enrollment; 5. Patients with traumatic brain injury; 6. Patients with tumor; 7. Patients with autoimmune diseases; 8. Patients requiring CRRT.
