Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: This is an economic evaluation of a parent LEAN intervention. Inclusion criteria used in the parent study: 1. Participants were selected if they were community-dwellers; 2. enrolled in the 686 Program; 3. had a primary diagnosis of schizophrenia; 4. on oral psychotropic medications; 5. physically resided in 1 of 9 rural townships of Liuyang municipality.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria used in the parent study: 1. Participants were excluded from the study if they were hospitalized due to schizophrenia at the time of recruitment; 2. had missed the most recent three consecutive past drug refills; 3. physically incapable of using voice or text messaging.
