Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1) female sex and 18 years or older; 2) new diagnosis of breast carcinoma (stage 0 to III); 3) post-lumpectomy, -quadrantectomy, or -mastectomy; 4) plan to receive adjuvant radiotherapy (RT) to the whole breast or chest wall with or without regional lymph nodes (total dose >= 40 Gy, dose per fraction >= 2 Gy), use of intensity-modulated RT.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1) prior radiation to the involved breast or chest wall; 2) concurrent chemotherapy; 3) immediate breast reconstruction after mastectomy; 4) partial breast irradiation; 5) planned use of skin-sparing intensity-modulated RT to treat the involved breast or chest wall.
