Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. T2DM diagnostic criteria according to the 1999 World Health Organization criteria; 2. The recent poor glycemic control (HbA1C > 6.5%, or fasting blood glucose > 7.0mmol/L, or 2 hours postprandial glucose > 11.1mmol/L); 3. Aged between 18 and 75 years; 4. Signed an informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Clinically significant major systemic disease, including severe hepatic and renal diseases, decompensated heart failure, myocardial infarction, malignant tumor, severe infection, etc; 2. Pregnant women; 3. Insulin-dependent diabetes patients; 4. Patients with the history of pancreatitis; 5. Patients with gastrointestinal diseases surgery or other abdominal surgery in the past 1 year; 6. Using drugs affect glucose metabolism in the previous 3 months, such as corticosteroids, thyroxine, etc; 7. Patients with acute complications of diabetes; 8. Patients with severe constipation, or acute and chronic diarrhea; 9. Yogurt ingestion within 1 week and antibiotics usage within 3 months before the first visit for stool sample collection; 10. Psychiatric patients.
