Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: The main inclusion criteria were any adult (=16 years old) patients who were admitted for more than 24 hours requiring specialist general surgical assessment and treatment or referred from another specialty requiring the same.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients were excluded from the study if they were admitted and transferred to urological services, admitted for less than 24 hours, or under 16 years of age.
