Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: a. Aged 18-65 years; b. Major depressive disorder diagnosed by DSM-IV; c. Hamilton depression rating scale (HAMD-24) scores > 8; d. At least 2 weeks stable antidepressants treatment before enrollment.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: a. Another mental disorder meets the DSM-IV criteria (except for major depressive disorder); b. Current of suicidal ideation or suicide attempts; c. Current or history of substance use disorder diagnosed by DSM-IV (except for nicotine dependence); d. Unstable physical diseases; e. History of epilepsy; f. Pregnant or lactating; g. History of electroconvulsive therapy, TMS, tDCS; h. History of a cochlear implant, cardiac pacemaker, and any brain devices or/and implants; i. Hyperalgesia, skin damage or inflammation in the stimulated area.
