65 Years to No maximum

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients >= 65 years of age undergoing elective, non-cardiac surgery requiring general anaesthesia, who were anticipated to stay in the hospital for longer than 72h.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Failure to provide informed consent; 2. History of schizophrenia, epilepsy, or Parkinson's disease; 3. Obstruction of communication and assessment of postoperative visual, auditory, language, or other impairments; 4. Preoperative cognitive impairment; 5. Arrhythmia; 6. Temporary pacemaker installation postoperatively; 7. Patients on beta blockers.
