Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) had osteoarthritis, with Kellgren–Lawrence (K-L) grade 3-4; 2) were undergoing primary TKA; 3) had varus or neutral knee.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) rheumatoid arthritis; 2) history of surgery or infection of the knee; 3) ligament injury of the knee; 4) valgus deformity; 5) severe bone defects that might require insertion of pads.
