Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: A total of 108 distal embedded nails with bone spurs were operated on in 76 patients between 2016 and 2018. All surgeries were performed at the Anmedica-Healthy Foot Center, Grunwaldzka Street 121, Poznan, Poland. Two doctors performed all the operations. Before surgery, patients underwent diagnostic imaging in the form of palpable/anteroposterior (AP) and lateral foot views (Figures 2). In the case of clinical doubt, a pre-operative ultrasound examination of the big toe was performed (Figure 3). The average follow-up time was 1.5 years.
