Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. aged 18-75 years, as declination of cognitive ability with advance in age may hinder compliance to intervention; 2. diagnosed as ASC by cardiologists, including unstable angina and acute myocardial infarction; (c) able to read, understand and complete questionnaires in simplified Chinese; 3. access to and able to use telephone.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. an acute state after a heart attack or receiving surgical treatment; 2. serious physical comorbidity (e.g., cancer), psychiatric disorder (e.g., severe depression) or psychosis which requires professional treatment, or cognitive impairment as documented in medical records; 3. enrollment in other interventions.
