Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: (1) Class II, devision 1 malocclusion in mixed detition (ANB 4 to 9 degree, proclination of upper incisors) or Anterior crossbite in deciduous detition with mouth breathing and/or other orofacial myofunctional disorders; (2) Good compliance of patients; (3) Lateral cephalograms shows that the age of cervical vertebrae was at or before the growth and development peak; (4) No previous history of maxillofacial trauma or cleft lip/palate; (5) No premature loss of deciduous teeth, no oral or maxillofacial deformity, no history of orthodontic treatment, and no history of temporomandibular joint disease; (6) Informed consent obtained from the patient and guardian.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: (1) No obvious orofacial myofunctional disorders; (2) Patients with Small overbite and overjet or with the tendency of open bite; (3) Hyperdivergent vertical growth pattern(MP-FH>33°and S-Go/N-Me<0.62); (4) Mandibular skeletal retrognathism, abnormal morphological development of mandible; (5) Serious skeletal crossbite, with mandibular unable to retrude to edge-to-edge occlusion; (6) Allergic to the materials of appliances; (7) Serious hypertrophy of adenoid and tonsil with surgical indications.
