Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. The forced expiratory volume (FEV1) / forced vital capacity (FVC) in the first second after inhalation of bronchodilator (salbutamol aerosol) was less than 70%. 2. Patients in acute aggravation stage. Acute exacerbation is defined as two major symptoms (dyspnea, increased sputum volume or purulent sputum), or one major symptom, combined with at least one secondary symptom (wheezing, chills, fever, sore throat or cough). 3. Patients who signed written informed consent before participating in the study.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with contraindications of bronchoscopy or pulmonary function examination. 2. Patients with known respiratory diseases other than COPD, including lung cancer, sarcoidosis, active tuberculosis, pulmonary fibrosis, cystic fibrosis, or diseases that may significantly affect clinical evaluation according to the judgment of researchers. 3. Definition of cancer: including current and recent 5-year diagnosis. 4. Patients with nervous system diseases affecting cough ability. 5. Patients without the ability to read and understand Mandarin.
