Interventions

Elderly group:Elderly patients aged 70 years or over with HOCM underwent septal myectomy or concomitant other cardiac operations
Control group:Patients aged under 70 years with HOCM underwent septal myectomy or concomitant other cardiac operations

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Those patients whose ratio of interventricular septal thickness to posterior wall thickness is more than 1.3; 2. Patients with the maximum LVOT pressure gradient >= 50mmhg before and after rest or stimulation; 3. Patients who have severe restrictive symptoms and have no effect on the use of ß- receptor blockers and / or calcium channel blockers; 4. The patients who underwent separate or combined VSM.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with LVOT obstruction related to hypertensive heart disease are excluded; 2. Patients with severe aortic stenosis are excluded from this study. They underwent aortic valve replacement and simultaneous VSM for left ventricular outflow tract obstruction caused by secondary VSH.
