Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Aged >= 65 years; 2. ASA classification I-III; 3. Undergoing total knee arthroplasty surgery and general anaesthesia expected to be extubated; 4. Postoperative Pneumonia Risk Index Scores >= two risk class; 5. Written inform consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Overweight (BMI >= 35kg/m2); 2. Respiratory infection within 1 months before surgery; 3. Previos lung surgery; 4. Use of mechanical ventilation within 2 months before surgery; 5. Any neuromuscular disease; 6. Congestive heart failure or significant cardiac dysfunction (LVEF < 50%); 7. Diagnosed COPD or sleep apnea; 8. Preoperative pulmonary function test suggests severe impairment of pulmonary function. 9. Moderate or severe anemia; 10. Severe liver disease (such as liver failure) or chronic renal failure (glomerular filtration rate < 30 ml/min).
