Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Extensive periodontitis, stage III, grade B, according to the definition of European Federation of periodontal diseases and American Society of periodontal diseases; 2. Patients over 40 years old; 3. Patients with more than 15 teeth remaining in the whole mouth; 4. Patients who do not smoke or quit smoking for more than one year; 5. Patients who have been diagnosed as type 2 diabetes for more than 2 years, or whose blood lipid indexes are not excluded from general health, but who are not diagnosed as metabolic syndrome; 6. Patients without infectious diseases such as active tuberculosis; 7. Patients willing to sign informed consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with a history of periodontal treatment within one year; 2. Patients who took antibiotics for more than 1 week within 6 months before the examination; 3. Patients with multiple bad restorations in the mouth that affect the examination; 4. Women who are pregnant or nursing.
