Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All subjects were diagnosed with IS according to guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of acute ischemic stroke in China (2014). IS patients were recruited based on the appearance of neurological deficits by experienced neurologists within 24 hours after the stroke onset. Inclusion Criteria are as follow: 1. Male or female aged 18-85 years old; 2. IS confirmed by computed tomography (CT) scan and/or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Diagnosis of hemorrhage or other pathology, such as vascular malformation, tumor, abscess or other major non-ischemic brain disease (eg, multiplesclerosis), on baseline head CT or MRI; 2. Patients with prior stroke, myocardial infarction, atrial fibrillation and congestive heart failure; 3. Pregnant woman or breast-feeding woman.
