Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: In January 2020, patients with rectal cancer diagnosed with non-new coronary pneumonia before surgery in our department; specimens have been collected in advance, safe handling and preservation, and informed consent has been signed before specimens are taken.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: In the same period, patients with rectal cancer who underwent surgery in our department were diagnosed with COVID-19 before surgery; they refused to be followed up after surgery.
